Dancing in the Rain: How My Journey to Sleep, Connection, and Calm Became Danni’s Dreamers
Most days as a parent are beautiful. Some are messy. And a few are just wild.
One of those wild days not long ago, my kids were full of big feelings. Meltdowns. Tears. Frustration. The kind of energy that makes your shoulders tighten and your patience wear thin.
Instead of trying to fix it all or battle for control, I did something unexpected.
“Let’s go dance in the rain,” I said.
And we did.
Soaked socks. Muddy toes. Giggling under grey skies. And something shifted - connection returned, emotions softened, and we found our calm… together.
That’s what Danni’s Dreamers is all about.
It’s not just sleep plans and routines. It’s about nurturing presence over pressure, supporting wellbeing alongside rest, and empowering families to thrive—whatever the weather brings.
My Path to Parenthood (and Why It Changed Everything)
I’m Danni - an accredited infant sleep consultant, Registered Mental Health Nurse, and most importantly, mummy to two beautiful children.
My path to motherhood wasn’t straightforward. After years of infertility and IVF/ICSI treatments, I was blessed with my daughter, Dottie (named after her first photo - a tiny dot in a petri dish!). Then, to my amazement, a natural conception brought me my son, Dylan.
After such a long, emotional journey, I expected to feel nothing but joy. And I did feel joy.
But alongside the happiness came something else: guilt and worry.
I constantly worried I wasn’t present enough, wasn’t energetic enough, was too tired to think clearly or be the mum I dreamed of being. The sleep deprivation wasn’t just exhausting - it was impacting my mental health and clouding my connection with my babies.
Then came my "ah-ha" moment.
I realised sleep wasn’t a luxury - it was a necessity.
Once I began gently sleep training, everything changed. Within a week, I felt like me again. More importantly, I felt like the mum I had always wanted to be.
That transformation inspired me to help others find their calm, too.
What Makes Danni’s Dreamers Different
Danni’s Dreamers Sleep and Wellbeing is a heart-led, holistic service built on professional expertise and real-life experience. My approach combines:
✅ Tailored infant sleep support
✅ Family-focused wellbeing strategies
✅ Compassionate emotional guidance
✅ Gentle, responsive methods - never cry-it-out
I trained with The Sleep Consultant Academy, a leader in infant sleep education, and I’ve spent years working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse supporting children and families. I bring all of this together to offer something truly unique:
a sleep consultancy that supports your whole family’s wellbeing.
Let’s Talk About Breastfeeding and Sleep
One of the most common worries I hear is:
“Do I have to stop breastfeeding for my baby to sleep better?”
Absolutely not.
Breastfeeding and sleep can work hand-in-hand. Night feeds are developmentally normal and emotionally nourishing. They don’t have to be a barrier to better rest. What I do help with is:
- Making night parenting more sustainable
- Understanding normal infant sleep patterns
- Finding gentle ways to build better sleep habits while continuing to breastfeed
There is no one-size-fits-all method - and there’s never pressure to stop breastfeeding unless it’s right for you.
Why Regulation and Rhythm Matter
Our babies borrow our nervous systems to regulate their own. That’s why calm is contagious.
And it’s why that moment dancing in the rain worked - it shifted our energy and reminded me that sleep and wellbeing are deeply connected to how we respond to our children emotionally.
Through Danni’s Dreamers, I support families not just in getting more sleep - but in becoming more connected, confident, and joyful.
You Deserve to Feel Rested, Happy, and Present
If you’re reading this and feeling sleep-deprived, touched out, or unsure what’s normal anymore - know this:
I see you. I’ve been you. And I can help.
You don’t have to sacrifice connection for sleep.
You don’t have to choose between breastfeeding and rest.
You can feel calm, confident, and supported.
Let’s work together to build a sleep and wellbeing plan that fits your values, honours your child, and gives you back the energy and joy to enjoy this fleeting time.
Because the life you want is within reach - and it starts with one small step.
With love and belief in you,
Danni x
